Boy am I burning up the dream forum..Im sorry but I thought you might find this dream interesting. By the way, Parthena I looked more into your site and I love it!
Ok, several years ago (about 10) I was young and in a bad situation with my husband he was a drunk and very abusive. One night I went to sleep and dreamed (I think) that I woke up and walked to the door of my bedroom looking through the living room into the kitchen I saw a beautiful lady standing there I had never seen before but I knew her. Her name was Sarah, I had the overwhelming feeling that I was soo happy to see her. We never spoke to one another but stood there for several minutes just looking at one another like we were old friends that had not seen each other in awhile. Even though I had this dream years ago it is like yesterday, I really had thought that she was my angel telling me she was with me. Since then I have wanted to dream of her, wanted to see her but havent. Do others have dreams like this?

Also, in April my Grandfather passed away and I was the only one with him as he passed. While he was taking the last several of his breaths I was holding his head in my hands and telling him that everything would be ok, that Lizzie would be waiting to see him (Lizzie was my grandmother that passed when I was about 1 year old, I dont remember her) He passed more graciously than any COPD patient I have ever been with (I use to be a nurse) and I consoled myself by thinking it was the words I spoke to him as he passed that kept him fearless and calm. Since his passing I've really wanted to dream of him and my grandmother together enjoying each others company..I really just want to know that they have found each other and before I sleep most nights I selfishly ask him to come to me and let me know. (OK now I really feel like a nut case) Is there anything that you can advise for this?

Hi IGive,

Burn up the forum all you want, we love having you!

I've got to run off to work but wanted to suggest this book:

Bereavement Dreaming and the Individuating Soul

It explains why we have these dreams and how to have them - but the author also cautions us against bugging our loved ones to visit. They need time to transition and will come and see us when they're ready.

My husband visited a lot in the first few weeks after he died, but it took my mother five years!

Thanks Parthena for the great resource. I guess I just miss my Grandfather, I really never let myself know him or vice versa and wish now that I would have. I would just like to know if he is happy.

I love that book, I think it's the best out there.

You might try being aware of things in waking life that remind you of your beloved grandpa. He may send you messages that way as well.

Sometimes loved ones aren't all that active in dreams, but it's still a visit. And sometimes they show up more in waking life than in dreams! Pay attention to what goes on in waking life, as your grandpa may have loads of messages for you in little, everyday things. My husband had a wonderful sense of humor and he plays little jokes on me all the time. For instance -

He used to do a character with a speech defect who would tell you about all the jobs he'd been fired from - 911 Dispatcher, Bingo Caller, Sportscaster, etc., and he couldn't understand why.

Today on the radio, the DJ called his own station, which has been advertising for salespeople, to apply for a job as a DJ. It was a real phone call and the lady on the line was so polite but she did giggle at one point! He talked kinda funny - almost like 'Skippy,' my husband's character. Skippy was better, but this guy was pretty good and it reminded me so much of how Joe made me laugh - and I enjoyed a good laugh on the way to work! I know he was saying "hi." That's just one of the things he's done. There have been many.

Whenever my mom wants to wave at me, she sends a beautiful red cardinal.
