I just use my declorinator and immediately use my water. I know some of you do aging. Do you age your water and why...

I age my water (for at least 24 hours), as well as add dechlorinator to it.

Why? So it reaches room tempurature by the time I use it. That way, just in case there's a fish emergency, I have aged, dechlorinated, room temp water.

Besides, usually I just "sprinkle" the bucket of water. I don't measure the dosage per se. So, this way, I'm sure that all the chlorine has evaporated by the time I need to do a water change. (I cover the bucket with a plastic shopping bag.....otherwise, my cat will drink out of it and get cat hair in the water )

I kind of do. Today I did a 100% water change, since I was adding a new heater and putting the gravel back in. (I left all the filter media in though ) Anyway, I have a 5 Gallon bucket that I use to do the water changes. It usually takes about 1.5 buckets to fill my tank. I refill it after I am done with water treated with stress coat and baking soda (to up pH). I use this water to replace the water that evaporates or gets sucked out with the poo. I do this for my tank with african dwarf frogs and snails. So the water I add is treated, and aged.

I do, because I get it from a drinking fountain, lol. How's that for a cold betta?

Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

I age my water. I have 1-5 gallon full of water, a 10 gallon heated tank full of aged/treated water...and 2-2gallon buckets that have water in them as well. Would this be considered overkill ??

Lol....well, here's the tanks that I have....it is a challenge keeping up on the aged/treated water for all these water changes....

29g-planted community
20g-german blue ram planted
15g-fancy guppy/panda cory tank
3-10g- 1 guppy fry tank, 1 shell dweller and 1 divided betta
2-5g- 1 river tank and 1 divided betta
2-2g-betta tanks
5-1g-betta tanks
3-smaller betta tanks

I THINK that's it....lol....

I ALWAYS have water ready and on hand for changes....!
