Hi, I'm new, and I just found this topic, and I've had this terrifying dream a few times - I'm dreaming that I'm asleep in my room and everything's exactly like it is when I'm awake (which is odd by itself, because usually my dreams are all in strange places that don't exist). The bedroom door is open but then it shuts by itself, and there's a person standing behind the door - his/her skin is grey and looks almost dead and he/she just stands there looking at me. It's ridiculously scary and I start screaming, but not at the same time I seem to be frozen with fear which doesn't really make sense. After this I make myself wake up, but I can't bring myself to open my eyes, because I'm so sure that the person is actually there.
Doesn't sound nearly as bad when I write it down..
Any thoughts?
Hi, Raina, and welcome to Bella!
LOL, yes, that's why dream journals are helpful. Try writing your dream in present tense, like a story. Your description is pretty close.
Dreaming of sleeping often indicates that we want to escape from something. Doors let us in or out - the figure represents something you don't want to look at - and I think you already know this because of the way you described your dream <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
Pay attention to your emotions and look at what the figure may represent to you.
