If you have a few minutes free and want to look at a pretty heated discussion that I ventured into...take a look. It is on a message board for the show Desperate Housewives, but the topic is childfree people vs parents.

Catepillar-

I applaud you for attempting boldy, and without the use of insults, nonsense or name calling, to state a valid opinion and back it up. WOW- I read all 7 pages and these people are pretty insulting, ignorant and downright snotty. You must have more patience than I do because I wanted to jump through my computer screen and choke someone! Your arguments are logical, well thought out and valid- don't let any baby factory tell you otherwise! Me- I'm too chicken to do what you did- way to take 'em on!!! Many of these people seem to be pretty religious- don't get me wrong- I believe in God- but I don't think God loves me any less for making an intelligent, logical decision about my life. There are plenty of people in this world who need to be helped and loved- I don't feel this need to create another just for me.

Thank you!! It's nice to be back over in the land of rational thinkers! I posted there because, well, it was an issue the show brought up. I had no clue that 98% of the fans were parents with alot of attitude. I don't really have a lot of patience...I just took long breaks between posts! Rational thinking- what a radical concept huh?! I wonder if any of these individuals made an informed decision to have their children or just acted without thinking of the consequences? I would make a bet that 95% just jumped right in without considering all of the aspects of parenting. This absolutely infuriates me because I work in education. I see the result of all the "oops" out there and it isn't pretty. It is so frustrating (not to mention depressing)that I worked hard to be promoted out of the classroom and work in administration. There is just no other way to say this- what a bunch of fricking morons!!!

I really dislike how people assume that everyone falls into simple categories when, in reality, each individual possesses a unique combination of beliefs, personalities, and other characteristics. Thinking in terms of black and white only spells disaster.

Lord, why talk to people whose only accomplishment in life is opening their legs?

What!?!?!? So, parents come to our forum all the time to put their two cents in but God Forbid if a CF person posts an opinion that differs from narrow-minded breeders...our posts are deleted?!!??!?
