"14 Children and Pregnant Again" will air on the Discovery Channel on October 19, 27 (8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.), and 29 (noon), EST I presume, but check your local listings.

Where the heck is all the animosity coming from????

I can certainly understand how mind-boggling this is, but if you haven't seen the earlier TV show (I believe it's called "14 Kids and One on the Way"), I'd recommend watching it before making any judgments about this family.
When I first started watching the show, I remember thinking "these folks must be crazy." I'm an only child, and am childless by choice, but my hat is off to this family!

Their kids are smart, well-adjusted, well-behaved, happy kids, and the family interaction is heartwarming! They are financially sound (on one income), pay cash for everything, and have worked together building their new larger home.

It's a very uplifting story, and I highly recommend it.

O.K., I'm sorry, I would never even consider this story being uplifting, why? Because these disgusting people decided to pollute the world with SOO many children, when they could have adopted children that need homes!
They are so very selfish for having the extreme number of kids, but to even consider having more. . .
ADOPT SOME KIDS! STOP HAVING THEM!

The Duggar family is a train wreck. All the kids' names start with J (inc. one named JINGER which I assume is supposed to be pronounced like "Ginger"). The older kids have to take care of the younger kids--IMO, that's not cool. They're a fundie-type family, i.e. the girls get to do all the cooking and such.

Not in any way inspiring to me. Just scary.

They have a website somewhere, but I can't remember the link...will find it and post it later.

I have also heard the same thing - about each child basically having a buddy. The older kids have to take care of the younger kids. Of course they do because the parents certainly cannot. But it's not fair to the kids. Not fair to the older kids who won't have a childhood and not fair to the younger kids who won't be raised by their parents. A totally messed up family, I think.

Although one would imagine there would be no way two parents could raise a family that large, perhaps you might consider watching the show or checking their website before you "decide" they are unable to properly care for their family.

By the way, their website is www.duggarfamily.com. Please refrain from sending them nasty emails.

I don't know if you were replying to me or to everyone, but I would never send them nasty emails. Others had stated that they had heard that the kids had to take care of their siblings, and I was just commenting that I had heard the same thing.

No, grimmy, that wasn't directed at you. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I've seen some pretty strong opinions here against the Duggars (without knowing anything about them), and by posting their website, I hope no one here sends them a "less than supportive email", that's all.

I could admire what they were doing if the vast majority of the kids were adopted, but my god popping out that many kids when there are so many in this world who are dying of starvation and/or have no one to show them love. That I will NEVER respect.
