In July it came to the point where I had to get a new car. My 1992 Nissan Pintara was over 200,000Klm, and needed about $2000 worth of work to get it up to spec again - which was more (according to the RedBook) than it was worth.
So I went car hunting. I knew what I wanted. My mum bought a 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Coupe that I had driven (and fell in love with), so I decided to look at these and similar ones.
Imagine my joy when I found a 2002 Lancer with less than 25,000KLM on the clock!
Cut a long story short - bought it at the end of July and love it more every day. I do a lot of driving (I've driven it 6000 klm since I bought it) and have found it comfortable and enjoyable to drive. I also love driving a manual car again (not having owned one in over 10 years).
Better and better - this is the first car I've owned that has been my choice from start to finish. All the others were bought from parents when they upgraded (usually, my car was traded, and I got their old one).
And the Pintara? I got $500 for it as a trade in.
