I was with my Dad (not my real life one) who had been condemned to death for a crime - it wasn't mentioned in the dream what that was. I was allowed to stay with him while he was executed by "cardiopathy" (I've looked it up in the dictionary and it isn't a real word) and there was another family there with their condemned loved one. We all got into a large copper sphere-shaped vehicle with portholes - it looked like a Jules Verne type submarine. My Dad was given an injection. I asked if I'd be ok as I had a heart murmur (that's true in real life) and the official said yes as it was the injection that made the difference. The sphere began to travel along the roads and pick up speed. Suddenly the two condemned people fell unconscious and their hearts stopped. I asked the official if that was it and he said yes.

Can anyone shed any light on this one and tell me if I should be worrying that I'm dreaming about such unpleasant things as executions?

If it's any compensation I had a recurring dream through my childhood that I was watching my father go to the guillotine. He is still alive & well. Possibly it was a past life thing?

These sorts of dreams may be about your sense of security I suppose. The sense of being an orphan would be dislocating (even at our age )

I agree with Lauren that it may be a past life thing, and the sphere also gets my attention. It's traveling, picks up speed, and then the people die/fall unconscious. I'm getting that it's somehow related to astral travel along with the obvious, death.

The dreamer is the only true interpreter of the dream. Ask yourself, what is the relationship with the father figure? Remember that people in dreams are often not who they appear as and are often aspects of the self. How do you feel about your heart murmur? How have you been feeling lately? Are you taking care of yourself? "Cardiopathy" may not be a real word but it sounds like a diagnosis related to the heart.

We don't have an article on 'heart' as a symbol yet, I'll write one this week

The article on the heart as a dream symbol will appear as a feature later this week:

Thanks Parthena, the articles are all very helpful. I'll need to ponder this one a while before I reach any conclusions. I don't often think about my physical heart murmur as it doesn't affect me - it just means I need antibiotic cover for dentistry and operations. I have a feeling, then, it's more of an emotional issue........my real life Dad has just finished a course of treatment for cancer though, and he was a very cold, distant father figure so maybe there are things there that need to be said.

Your mention of astral travel is intriguing, I'll definitely give that some thought!

I've just checked out your website which I really enjoyed. the turquoise goddess statue is beautiful and timely for me as I was strongly prompted to use turquoise as the main colour on my website - it's very healing and calming.

See that, you just interpreted your dream! There are some links to sites on astral travel here:

Thanks so much for visiting my site! I love my girls, the "Boobdah's" as a customer dubbed them Many people have reported that they make them feel good and I love that! I wasn't able to create for a while after I lost my husband but picked up my clay again a few weeks ago.

I must tell you as I got really excited in a "the puzzle falls into place" kind of way (we'd say "the penny dropped" over here but I'm not sure you'd understand that).

I felt prompted, after another violent dream in which I killed a man who had been holding me captive, to pick up one of my favourite books ever - "Women Who Run With the Wolves" by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. In it she said how the father figure often represents that part of the psyche that interfaces with the physical world and its rules, but it can often make bad decisions as it doesn't take into account the soul factor and so doesn't look beyond the surface of things.

My dreams are telling me that I'm moving into a time of living by the soul wisdom, that my father psyche has made wrong decisions (the crime in the dream) and therefore has to die. It has also kept me a prisoner and not allowed me to move forward properly with spirit (hence the reason for me killing the older man who was keeping me captive in my more recent dream).

Added to that, in my lovely tarot pack the "Beauty and the Beast" card has kept coming up for me the last few days. What's that story all about? A father making a wrong decision and getting a dughter into trouble who then rescues the situation by looking beyond the beast's ugly surface to see the beauty within. Wow!

Thanks so much for your comments which nudged me in the right direction. This has been one of those eureka moments that I love and has given me a strong and encouraging message. Sorry for rambling on but I love times like this when the light goes on and you suddenly see everything clearly!
