So far, the most definitive book on the 1000s of Polish pilots who flew in the RAF was written by Lynne Olson and Stanley Cloud. A Question of Honor, The Kosciuszko Squadron follows a squadron of Polish flyers during the war. Their pivotal and decisive contribution during the Battle of Britain (Churchill in his memoirs credits them with turning the tide), and what happens to the survivors at the end of the war, and the betrayal at the hands of Stalin. They are attributed with about 20% of all Luftwaffe losses during the battle of Britain.
A fantastic book, with moving photos, it is a must read for those interested in Polish History during WWll, albeit from a different shore. I bought it online, and is a book I will read again.
