I just started going to any CF web-page. I didnt even think they existed. And Yes this one is the best one I found. Some other's were far worse. I just never looked at Parents they way some of you do. I have never called them names like "Breeders" nor has anyone around me. They are simply parents. So I guess I was some what-shocked that there was a whole comminity with bad names for parents and children, Like fu**trophies, and a few more outlandish things I have read.

But really, I came here to speak to other Child-Free people and it seems like I am always arguing instead. But thats what forums are, people with different opinions.

Boards like can be a stress relief of sorts. You can't say what's on your mind IRL because there are no places to do that. Here we can voice how we feel about being a minority. About how every is child-centered and how we get shafted. Of course we can be angery and upset with parents and kids. So what? And yes I have been to a couple parenting threads that did talk negativly about the CF.

And Breeder is a very common term in England, some parents even use it calling themselves breeders.

I've had the same reaction as you when I came accross red the crude CF boards that use phrases like f-trophies, etc and get off on parent bashing for no reason. Believe me, I'm not stuffy, (I watch cartoons and buy toys -for myself!) but I can't take that kind of bitterness and childishness, either.

I think venting out of frustration because a family member, friend or spouse doesn't understand you is alot different than what they do on those other boards, so I just avoid them. I had a hard enough time getting over the CF fence so I want to at least try to respect others' choices so they have a reason to respect mine.

Well when I hear "Breeder" I think of animal Breeder's not people. You all can say Breeder if you want. I will continue saying Parents. There is nothing wrong with having a little respect for others. And a lot of my Parent friends said they would find it rude if they got called a "breeder" to their face.

When I hear "breeder" on a CF site, I take it to mean a person who keeps reproducing without any responsibility, thought or planning. And they blame everyone for their sorry situation.

An "oops" is one thing, but continuing to "oops" when your broke or don't stick around to raise your kid is another. Those people don't deserve to be called parent. Even "bad parent" seems to soft. I work in healthcare and see it every day.

Parent is the opposite of all that. Even if they "oops", they buckle down and make their baby the most important thing in their lives and work their [censored] off to raise them right and support them. They deserve to be called parents.

It sounds like you've never come across anyone who fits the so-called breeder (or bad parent) mold so consider yourself lucky.

I'm gonna copy and paste something I posted in another thread...

I think we have to make one thing clear. There are two kinds of people we accept: wonderful parents and the childfree. There's a third category, and that consists of bad parents. If we accidentally say "parents," we mean the bad ones. I think it happens because some of us see so many bad parents out there that we may momentarily forget the great ones.

If you have kids and are wonderful in caring for them, that's great. I respect you for that. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Okay..

1st Entry Breeder : One that Breeds.

Main Entry: breed
Pronunciation: 'brEd
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): bred /'bred/; breeding
Etymology: Middle English breden, from Old English brEdan; akin to Old English brOd brood
transitive senses
1 : to produce (offspring) by hatching or gestation

How can people be offended by something that is literally accurate?? People need to get over themselves. This is a site for people who constantly get harrassed for the choices we have made. If we want to call someone a breeder, so be it. If you are unhappy with it, feel free to change sites. It's a big internet.

I think I will be staying. I am just as Child-Free as all of you are. And I think we need someone around here who is a bit different from the rest of the pack. Variety is a good thing.

Like HappyCFGuy said.

I don't like people who are jerks and @ssholes, period. It's just that some of the people who fall into that category happen to be parents and children, and I rant about it on CF boards. Just like I might rant about the ones who happened to be customers on a "customers suck" board. Etc.
