Police officers working with the DARE program have issued this warning:

If you are driving after dark and see an on-coming car with no
headlights on, DO NOT FLASH YOUR LIGHTS AT THEM! This is a common
Bloods gang member initiation game.

The goes like this: The new gang member uniter initiation drives along
with no headlights, and the first car to flash their headlights at him
is now his target. He is now required to turn around and chase that
car, then shoot and kill every individual in the vehicle in order to
complete his initiation requirements.

Police Depts. across the nation are being warned that September 23rd
and 24th is the Blood initiation weekend. Their intent is to have all
the new bloods nationwide drive around on Friday and Saturday nights
with their headlights off. In order to be accepted into the gang,
they have to shoot and kill all individuals in the first auto that
does a courtesy flash to warn them that their lights are off.

Make sure you share this information with all the drivers in your family.

Please forward this message to all your friends and family members to
inform them about this initiation ritual. You can save someone's life
if you heed to this warning.

I heard that it might be but it was sent to my mom ( a lawyer) by a judge so i felt a need to pass it on.

Before you forward anything from the internet - please do yourself the favor of checking with www.truthorfiction.com to see if it is a hoax or not. I learned the hard way after embarassing myself a couple times.

I drove two blocks with out my lights on last week and no one flashed their lights at me to let me know. Maybe this is why, they thought I would shoot them!

Well then I am glad I live in a small town because when we bought the Land Rover (about 2 months ago) I was driving home and I could see the brights were on so a car was coming toward me and for the life of me I could not figure out how to put them on low beams so I was just turning those lights off and on.

I have to ask because of your screen name, Missingmykids, if you are going through the empty nest syndrome. I thought perhaps that might be what your screen name was brought about.
I remember when I went through my period when both children were gone and I felt so lonely. One day I went to K-Mart and picked up a new hair brush. While in line I realized that it was probably my first new hair brush for about 16-18 years. I would buy my daughter a new hair brush and then take her old one to use. I had to learn how to buy new things for myself. It was an odd feeling for sometime.
