Ok, if I hear "If your mother felt that way, you wouldn't be here" one more time I am going to scream! Look, if my mother felt that way, yes it's true I wouldn't be here....but how the hell would I even know about it??? It's like the person is asking you to imagine if you didn't exist....well if I didn't exist there is nothing to imagine or think about. I would just not be here....end of story.
Does this one drive anyone else crazy (simply because it is completely pointless)??

The only place I've heard this is on this board, and another board I went to once. If I ever hear it in real life that person will get my opinion!

It completley defies logic, like the rest of the reasons why we should have kids that non-CFer's give to us.

I have actually only heard that online too, and not actually directed towards me, but yes, it is simply pointless. It makes no sense. Like you said, so what that we wouldn't be here - we wouldn't know any better!

I agree it is stupid and like the other posters above me, no one has said this to my face ever. The comment that I can't stand or more of an assumption is when people say to me, "Oh, when you have kids.....blah blah blah..." I usually just smile or ignore it if it is someone I don't know very well, but when a relative or friend comes out with it, I just correct them and say, "If we have kids." That way, they understand that I am looking at it like a choice not a given.

Yes, I always said "IF" we have kids too. Everyone says 'When you have kids" I notice that all the time.

Yeah, like I said on another thread when somebody pulled out that line: I don't care. If I were never born, I'd never know I was missing anything. Even now I wouldn't care if I had to go back and never be born. Not like I've made any sort of significant contribution to society that it would make one whit of difference to the world if I were never here. Big deal.

I have heard this probably more than anything else. It's completely retarded.
