Hmmm I am not sure about a crystal but you may consider putting a soothing lavender sachet in her room.
I know that Johnsons makes a lavendar scented baby bath as well. a nice soothing bath before bed may help too.

ive often noted that many of the people here swear by black touormaline for protection in regards to bad dreams. perhaps that would help.

I recommend ruling out a medical reason for this. Do you have carpet, pets, live in a polluted city? Allergies prevent us from breathing as deeply as we need to, which prevents us from getting as much oxygen as we need, which interferes with our sleep. Which can cause a headache. It could be a food allergy. I would take the baby to the doctor and make sure there is not a serious underlying medical condition FIRST. What kind of bedding do you use? How long has this been going on? If the doctor clears the baby of any medical conditions, take a look around your house and at the food the baby eats. Are you nursing it? If so, are you drinking caffeine or smoking? There is a possibility this situation is beyond the realm of stones and sachets. Is your baby gaining weight and growing normally? Please let us know what you find out, if the babe checks out medically then we can go from there.

I agree with Firefly. Do hang a crystal by the bed or cradle (out of reach) and/or place a source of soothing sensation (or whatever it is called). But do attempt to eliminate all sources of irritation. (Note: Sometimes a smell you find nice or soothing yourself is such a source of irritaion to a small child).
I know zip about crystals and their effects I'm afraid, but I have heard that rose quartz has a calming effect when placed in the bedroom. I have one myself.

Thanks for all the replies! I did read that lavender is calming for the baby, and I started burning it (oil) and it seems to calm her a little bit, to awnser Firefly, I am nursing and I dont drink coffe or smoke and she is growing perfectly for her age, it is definatly nothing medical. Maybe I am just blessed with a very active child..
Can anybody recomend a site or book on how to raise a wiccan child?
Also I read The Circle within(thanx Fiona for recomending it) it was really inspiring..but I am strugling with, do I teach lila to be wiccan or do I leave it for her to decide when she is bigger? I was forced to be a christian and I know what that did to me...It talks in the book about embracing both the mother and the father, and I suppose I am like many out there, how do I get past the male figure I was indoctrined with my whole life? Can anyone give me advice as to how you got past the christian god and excepted the "new"

Hi there, I have 2 recommendations. One is Circle Round - here's the link to the review on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/det...ks&n=507846This is a book on raising children in the Goddess Tradition (aka - Pagan). Lot's of good Pagan info, fun crafts and things to do with your kid(s) or on your own. The other suggestion is to look into a Univeral Unitarian Church in your area. They welcome All religions and this way (if you are comfortable) you and your baby can learn about many different religions. You can also celebrate your path while being open to others. They don't focus on any one religion but encompass all. Of course, each will be different but it's worth checking out. As for getting past the "male" God Christian stereotype - I have trouble with that one sometimes, too. I focus on the female, Goddess, much more but include the male, God, when needed. It's up to you on how you want to approach it. Remember - there is no dogma in Paganism!! Do what feels right to you. Read some more on how the male and female sides are represented and see what clicks with you. BB ~Skyrah

One of the most soothing crystals to use with a baby is mangano calcite. It has a very gentle loving & calming energy. Don't put it where the baby can get hold of it & put it in its mouth! Best to put it in a pouch and fasten it securely & safely out of reach over the head end of the cot, or hold it in your hand as you rock the baby. I wouldn't recommend black tourmaline for babies as the energy is very strong.

Thanks for letting us know; I have been thinking about you two and hoping she is fine. Keep nursing her; that is a gift to both of you. I was raised in the Catholic church, my mother was raised by the nuns. As a teen, I started reading about "witchcraft" (I have always loved witches), then started hearing about "wicca". Upon reading about wicca, then pagan beliefs, I was very very surprised that a lot of their beliefs and ways are within me! Catholic girl! So everyday, I pray my Catholic prayers, (a lot), I am devoted to Mary, she and I have a special bond or two, three actually. I ask the archangels and angels for help or protection for those in need, I am nature's child to the core, celebrating the changing of the seasons, the harvest, I study the stars, sun and moon with and without the astronomy club I belong to, barefoot, loving this earth and everything on it. I do not perform rituals or spells; the rituals of the Catholic church, well I am not into rituals. I prefer to pray. Praying makes me feel better and they work, some quickly and effectively. Check out religions you are interested in, something will grab you. Raise your daughter to cherish this Earth and everything nature has to offer. There is an awesome world waiting for you two, to discover together. Enjoy.

Thanks for the crystal recomendation...I'll go have a look if I can find it, also thanks for the book recomendations!
It is really so difficult sometimes! I am a firm believer in male and female energies in everything, you see it around you everywhere in nature, in fact there is nothing in this world that doesn't have some component of female or male...yet it makes me so sad that some religions are always just focused on one..I guess the best I can do is to teach lila that there is both male and female energies in this world and that both must be honored and embrased..
Thanks for all the replies..it was really nice to speak to like minded people..
