I answered for when I was still homeschooling. I'm so ADD that if I didn't use a schedule, nothing would get done. We had a posted schedule each day--so it changed based on what we were doing. We started and ended on time, but the amount of time spent on each activity varied.

Hey Terrie

This is the first year we're actually using a schedule daily and it's made such a difference for all of us, especially me. I've found that on the weeks that are "off" for one reason or another the kids are grumpier and bicker more. It's nice having us all know what to expect when we begin the day The last few months have been so up in the air, that it's nice knowing we have some sense of normalcy

We have a very flexible schedule, more of a routine...we do school M-F in the mornings and have set activities each day through the week. Things seem to work out better when we stick to our routine but it's not always possible.

I have 5 children (all 8 and under), if I don't use a schedule it becomes very chaotic. This is my third year homeschooling and the first year I have made such a rigid schedule (down to the minute). I actually just recently put one of those "Super Nanny" big schedules on our pantry door, the transformation has been amazing. I had a lot of problems with sibling fighting between my boys, the schedule has helped to keep it under control as I have them working on different activities instead of us doing everything together like we were doing before. I also schedule each child "Mom Time", which they get to choose the activity to do with Mom. (In such a large family, I am always spread out among 5 million projects....so their own personal time with me is something special to them. Of course it is the first activity lost on those crazy days when our schedule is "thrown out the window".)
