As always, I am far behind but come on now, brag a little are you "on the ball" and have all your x-mas projects started or are you like me, behind again ?

I, like you, am always behind. Although, for some unknown reason I have actually given this some thought (and we are not even in November yet)!

I actually pulled out my pattern stash last night and got some great ideas. I will be starting some of my gift ideas later this week.

What sort of projects are you doing as gifts?

I have been thinking of doing some dishcloths, dish soap covers, pot holders and towel holders as gift ideas for aunties, sister in law and grandmother. I was also thinking of doing a doll or doll clothing for my nieces and youngest daughter. I recently found some jewelry patterns I may try for my older daughters. Maybe a shawl or two for mom and mother in law...

...I think, it is a little to late, and I am a little over ambitious...

Right now I am working on an afghan for my new Grandma, almost finished, then I have to make another afghan for my Grandpa. And in between those I have a few things I would like to get up on the Bellaonline Crochet page for all of you to try no rest for the wicked, hehehehehehe

Not to brag, but I finished my Christmas crochet projects (there were 4 of them) before summer. I learned long ago to not try to crochet heavy afghans in the summer, so I try to get started in January. It's left me feeling at loose ends, so to speak, not having any pressure deadlines, so I can just crochet for the heck of it now. Still trying to find an outlet for all the extra afghans I've been doing with leftover yarn stash.

I've completed an afghan for my son (because he swears that real men don't wear scarves even if they match the new hat that was crocheted. I figure real men get cold in the winter and he will need a blanket.) I've finished a great jacket for my daughter out of that boulce(sp) yarn. The picture of the hooded jacket for my granddaughter was a Christmas present project. I just had her model it so you all could see how cute she was. I'm working on the Rainbow Ribbon tie front from Angelia's site. I'm just crocheting and crocheting. I finished the afghan in about a week and was so proud of my self and announced that I was finished with it to my husband. His comment was "Why are you so excitied about it...Your only going to crochet again?" I'm still trying to figure that one out.

I sometimes feel like I am not going to get to it. Thanks for reminding me. This year seems to be very frantic. Maybe it is just the times.

I'm Knitting some Scarves with the Bernat Disco yarn.
Crochet with the Fun Fur seems to come out too heavy for me
and Knitting makes a finer stitch.
Just my preference.

I'm quite proud of myself this year... it's the first year I haven't decided to "start" the "christmas present afghan" made of a giant granny square in the middle of December
I have one done, 1 quilted one about 1-2 weeks from being done, and my third (another quilted one) is about a month away, if that, from finished. Plus the numerous placemats and dish rags that I made as the "quit smoking projects"

And I must say Susan, they are a cute bunch ya got there
