I was wondering if some of you could help me. I'd always known that my father was born out of wedlock and didn't really know his father. But lately, after spending about 2 months with family in Poland, I wanted to find other family. And surprisingly, in the past when I mentioned possibly looking for the family my dad always shot down the proposal. But when driving home with him Friday, he randomly brought the subject up and wanted to find them and make sure that they are family. I really don't know where to search on the internet and I know it's possible to contact a bureau in Poland and so on. But I wanted to see what you could find. His name was "Kazimierz Laska." That's all I have for now, and I could try to find out his last known residence from my Dad.

Hussar,

I think that you will need to learn the location of where your Dad was born, where this man resided, etc. before anyone can help you. There might be other people with the same name, so you will need evidence (information) to determine if the one that you find is really the person you are looking for.

Good Luck,

Nancy

If your grandfather was born in Poland, his birth certificate must be in the nearest town from Stara Jablonna (nearest "gmina" - something like a county). If he was also baptised, another certificate would be kept at the parish church. Parish archives are usually in much better conditions and are kept very accurately for hundreds years. On both documents you will have the names of parents.
Anyway it seems a very hard job to do. Good luck.

Well the thing is that my grandmother worked as a cook for an oil and gas drilling company and was constantly moving. So I believe she was on the road. The main problem is that my dad had never really met his father until he was about 20 and took the case to court to finally have it cleared up if he was his father or not.

Well, clearly that is the place to go for information. If there was a court hearing somewhere, there are records. In addition, as has already been posted, church records available on microfilm provide a great resource if you have a starting place or region.
Good luck!

Excuse me, I have never seen a microfilm in a parish office! They might be available in university libraries but not in parishes. I'm talking about Poland of course. When I was doing some genealogical research of my family I only came across very old books, yellowish pages and neatly callighraphed entries. I wouldn't count on microfilms. Yet there must be some court records. Do you know what year it was, what court etc.?

The Church of Latter Day Saints (LDS) based in Salt Lake City, Utah, has filmed a good number of parish records from Poland. These microfilms are avaialble through their library or family research centers here in the US. These records are far from complete, and the area around Rzeszow was hardly documented at all.

As others have suggested, I think Hussar should try to locate those court records as a start.
