This is their home...a 20 long viverium....


They were bred and raised in captivity..so are not poisonous. The frogs in the wild get thier poisons from eating ants that carry it..if they don't eat any of these ants....no poisons !

wow, those are startlingly gorgeous! tell me all about them. Do they have personalities yet? Who else will be going in your terrarium? That's a beautiful habitat you have going there, BTW.

Well, we only just picked them up yesturday, and I spent most of the afternoon putting that tank together. But from what I have seen of their personalities so far...the Citronella is the boldest of the three...the G&B is the shyest.

Citronella comes right up to the front of the tank when he sees you coming..just like my bettas ! He's also the largest, so probably the oldest and just more used to the feeding routine. So as much as I'd like to think he's already developed an attachment to me...lol...he just wants to eat all the time.

G&B is very shy and we have to be extra careful with him to stay away from his tank and make sure he eats enough. He's the smallest of the three, I hope he does o.k. He's in a 5 gallon tank for now, till he gets a bit bigger. He'd get lost in a hurry in the 20 tall that Sara has set up for him.

As far as putting anything else in with them...I don't think I will. It was suggested to me by the fella who raises them that it isn't a good. So..they each have thier own little space all to themselves.

I've never kept frogs besides the ADFs. You'll have to keep us updated. This is very cool. Welcome to Emg's Jungle!

Lol...jungle indeed ! I'm starting to have dreams about my managerie....and fall asleep wondering if my DFs found a hole in the less than adequate temporary lid I made from plastic canvas and binder clips...(gotta love that stuff !!)...lol...there are no gaps they can get out of...(at 50bucks a piece you can be sure I made sure of THAT !!) They're safe, but I won't rest properly until I get the glass one made up. Have to take a trip to Home Depot and get that done..

I'm acutally beginning to think I need to downsize a bit here....now I have to keep fruitflies too....lol....

But it's fun and these things are so fantastic ! I want more..... <img src="/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />
