Thanks Lauren. I forgot to look into the lepidolite; I will start hunting for one. I did however read your chakra article with my Crystal Bible in hand, referencing. I have never done anything like this but if it will help me sleep I will give it a try. However...I am my own worst enemy! My cats love to sleep with me and as I toss and turn, I feel the need to once again confirm my undying love for whichever cat or two I am sleeping with. So I pet them. Dave plasters herself against my leg, Pepper likes to sleep near my head, and Hazelnut, she sleeps in the crook of my arm with her head on my shoulder. I have noticed that I do sleep better if no cats are in bed with me but that is not very often. Luckily my husband has not inquired as to why the bed is full of cats and rocks.

I couldn't help but wonder how clinical depression affects the chakras. From reading about the seven, I can honestly say that none of mone sound completely healthy. I'm missing something in all seven points. It's also interesting that I have major pain at four of the points Indigo, Violet, orange, & red - what would (I guess) be the "skeleton" of the chakras. Mean anything? Or am I reading too much?

ROTFL! One of mine gets comfy in the crook of my knees, usually before I decide to turn over. I start on my left side, then lie on my back before turning over on my right side, which is the only way I can sleep!

I'll let Lauren answer your question on chakras, musicalmom. I'm currently working with the audio workbook:

Change Your Aura, Change Your Life

which deals with auras and chakras. The guided meditations are wonderful.

We have 3 cats; one is his, one is mine, and one belongs to herself. The one that is his sleeps at the top of his pillow and then generally wanders downstairs, the one that is independent is a night roamer, a TRUE cat. MY cat however curls up next to my back and woe be to the person that tries to mover her. She weighs 18 lbs. and growls if you disturb her sleep! But if i roll over she'll put her head in the crook of my arm and purr away. She and the 2 yr old fight over that spot - its quite funny.

Firefly that did make me laugh! You've got a lovely tolerant man there

I must say I used to have four cats that would vie for best position on the bed. One black cat used to sleep on top of my head on the pillow- I must have looked like I was wearing a furry hat. Over the years they grew old & passed away & now I am without my feline friends. I do miss them, but I sleep much better now!

On your chakras Musicalmom it does sound like they would benefit from some attention. Depression is quite tangible in the energy field. It does literally feel like a 'black cloud'. Energy therapies like crystal healing can be beneficial. Several different types of therapies work in this way. Have you got a Complementary Health Centre near you? I'll be adding a distant healing section to my Touchstones Therapies site within the next few weeks, so if you draw a blank locally I might be able to help.

Wish I could figure out a way to hop a plane. Your website is lovely! My husband flies out to England (B'ham) about 2x a yr, I'm hoping to come w/ him one of these days, maybe I will and take a "roadtrip" to your shoppe. (I guess you have a physical shoppe?)

In the meantime, I guess I'll just pull out the yellow-pages!

Thanks for the compliment. I don't have a physical shop as I work from a complementary health centre. I do have quite a range of crystals, which I keep mainly to be able to supply my students, but if you ever can't source something it is worth asking me through the Bellaonline email address. (Cheaper though if you can get things locally as I have to add postage)

Birmingham is about two and a half hours pretty, winding drive away so not beyond the realms of possibility if you wanted an appointment one day and a look at scenic Wales.

See if you can get a recommendation from someone. Over here just about anyone can set themselves up as a therapist & you don't know who you're getting if you go to the phone book. If there is no-one you can ask look up a complementary health centre as they are more likely to screen their therapists- I had to do a written application, interview, show my qualification certificates & insurance before being accepted to work at my local centre. Whoever you settle on have a good chat first & ask about their qualifications & insurance- good practitioners won't mind.

Hi Parthena! Can I drag up an old subject? My luverly reccuring nightmare. I did talk with my therapist about it. one thing that came up was the date rape (no surprise). But something else.

In HS my Dad read some letters a BF wrote to me from college about "making out" Even though in the letters it was quite clear we had never gone "all the way" my dad went ballistic, threatened to throw BF in jail for statutory rape, big scene. He also told me that one day, some boy was not going to stop, I was going to get raped, and it would be my own fault.

My therapist seems to think the "Big Bad" chasing me in the dream is my Dad. What do you think?

Your therapist may be right. Being chased by monsters and other uglies represent fear and anxiety that we are trying to escape from, including trauma and bad memories.

How do you feel about it? Do you agree or do you have some other insight? You are the dreamer, you know best!

It sounds like the therapist could be right on this one. Your Dad said some very hurtful, ugly things to you in his anger, which obviously went deep. When one of his threatening predictions came true you may have subconsciously felt he was partly to blame.

Were you able to mend your relationship with your father in adult life? Is he forgiven for this outburst?
