This is what I do, but when I read the post title, my immediate thought was "one boob at a time" --sorry, it's very late and I'm obviously punch drunk! And, since my boobs are on the downhill run now, I usually re-orient them so they're pointing at least in the same direction.

Backwards. Since I can't reach behind me well enough to do up the hooks, I put it on with the outside against my body, the inside facing outwards and the hooks in the front. Once hooked, I turn the whole thing around, flip it up so the inside is facing my body, lean forward to position my breasts in the cups, then put the straps on. I have always done it this way and it works perfectly well for me.

I used to work for a garment manufacturer, which made a wide variety of women's clothes, including bras. I'm a size 16, but still not really an A cup, so I was always unhappy with the bras that we made when I tried them on.

The overall trick is to not just put the bra on and go. This theory was taught to me by the woman who did the actual design work. Get into the bra however works best for you. I know many women put them on around the waist and then turn them and pull them up because they can't reach.

One you have the bra on, lean forward and adjust how your breasts sit in the cups. Pull each cup away from your body slightly to let the breast center itself in the cup. Make sure the rib band or underwire gets adjusted to sit where it is comfortable.

Take the hand that is opposite the boob you are adjusting and slide it across the skin from the arm pit down towards the breast. This gathers the breast tissue fully into the cup and often makes for a better fit under the arm. Repeat with the other side. Then stand up. If the shoulder straps need adjusting, now is when to do it.

Technique works great for smaller and larger breasted women in that it both helps to ensure better support and a more comfortable fit. If you are wearing a push-up style bra, it helps make sure you've got all the assests in the right place. If you wear a minimizer, it make the fit much smoother.

The only problem with this method...
You can't do this while your husband is in the room, or else you never make it out the door. <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
