I'm 15 and i just got my nose pierced 2 days ago.

Last night i went to clean it and i was turning it and noticed that it was out a little so i went to twist it back down and it came out 75% of the way, i finally got it back in and went to bed.

This morning when i woke up it was gone, so i put in a nose ring that i had gotten for my birthday, i cleaned it and twisted it and it seems to be fine, it doesnt hurt unless its moved, is this: safe, clean, gunna heal?

What are you using to clean the piercing? How many times a day? Try not to touch it too much. Constant friction on the piercing can delay the healing process and cause other problems. Hope I can help.

Is the "it" that you are referring to the nose jewelry that you got when your nose was pierced? I'm taking a guess that's what you are saying, from the words "twist it back down" which sounds like a nostril screw-style piece of jewelry.

Nostril screws aren't usually recommended for starters on nostril piercings as turning them to clean them can bring them out, and some people have skin such that a fresh piercing will close right back down.

If the ring that you put in your nose is surgical steel or gold, it should be fine for healing. If it's sterling silver, impurities in the metal and tarnishing can cause irritation or infections. Both of those tend to cause those bumps of scar tissue called keloids.

well im using bactine and it was like an ear earing, and i twisted it because it hurt just to push it the twisting didnt hurt as much, and the ring i put in after is a nose ring but its bent so it doesnt fall out, well i had to bend it straight becuase my nose skin is so thick that the straight part before its bent is smaller then how thick my nose is, but now its straight and could fall out easily so how do i make it so it doesnt fall out, should i buy a different kind of nose ring and try to put it in or should i take one of the other nose rings (it came in a pack of 3) and try to put that in even though it looks too small?

by the way i have to touch it just about every hour to push it down so it doesnt fall out, because it doesnt have a back and its straight just like a normal earing stud and i clean and move it twice a day, when i wake up and before i go to bed.

i would also like to add this was a birthday present from my mom but she couldnt bring me and the people at the piercing place wouldnt do it because my stepdads name and my name wouldnt match up so they told us to get a "do it yourself kit" and we used a gun that came with it, and it was infact a nose piercing kit, it doesnt look infected and it came out just fine but i am allergic to fake jewlery as far as my ears go and i want to know if it does flare up should i change it asap?

I'm going to be honest here. From my experience, this has all the makings of a piercing horror story.

The rules about minors getting pierced are there for good reason. If your step-father does not have any legal guardianship over you, it is illegal for him to sign for you to get pierced. If he had legal proof of his guardianship, they should have been able to let him sign even with a different last name. The specific rules vary from state to state, so you will have to find the regulations for the state you live in.

I can't believe the piercing place told you to get a kit and do it yourself, that is medically dangerous. Those nose piercing guns are really bad in that they are very blunt and cause a huge amount of trauma to the nose cartilage. Also, I'm sure you didn't carry out your own piercing under what is medically called "clean technique."

Having just any old earring in your nose is bad, especially given the fact that you mention that you have to keep touching it constantly. If you don't wash your hands every single time before you touch the piercing, you risk contaminating it with germs you've picked up from everything else you've touched.

From everything you've said I would say there is almost a guarantee that you are going to have an infection in that piercing.

I suggest you read the following because if you keep moving along without info, you are going to have serious problems:

Nose Piercing FAQ

You need to get proper piercing jewelry with metal that are appropriate for healing a piercing and learn what it means to really keep a piercing clean.

Well the gun we used had never been used before and we also threw it away after we used it, the nose ring didnt hurt bad at all when it was pierced and it wasnt tight, didnt swell and didnt bleed.

So should i
1. go out asap and buy a ring instead of keeping this stud
2. Take it out, let it heal and then get it professionally done
3. go to a piercing place have them look at it and tell me what i should do
4. keep doing what im doing?

i love it and it doesnt hurt and i would absolutly hate to take it out

I can't make a final decision for you, but I think that option #2 or #3 would be more in your best interest.

Hey ppl,
I got my nose pierced about 4 or 5 weeks ago and it was fine but now the skin around my stud is red and sort of pussing I think I ripped the piercing a bit. Ive been putting antiseptic on it to heal the skin but wot else can I do to fix it?
luv CCgal
