I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what/how to make a bracelet that would appeal to a 22 year old man? My cousin's birthday is coming up and I was thinking about making him a polymer clay bracelet, but am not sure about design ideas.
Thanks!

If you look under the Holiday and Seasonal category under summer, you will find an article full of Father's Day jewelry ideas which includes links to more guy friendly jewelry!

Thanks for the suggestion. Since I waited for the last minute, I may use purchased beads instead of [trying to] make them myself & put together a bracelet tomorrow.

I think the bracelet would have to be masculine. Bracelet may have some weight may be with some wide celtic knot deignes. Will the bracelet be linked what materials are you using. These may be very important.

Hello Tammy
In my experience in jewelry making for particularly for men, since men really do not like wearing jewelry, best method or best thing you can do and use would be a stretchy elastic threads, and use any of the 3 different kinds of the tiger eye beads. The older they individual, the bigger the gemstone. you can use an 8mm red tiger-eye stones, for an older male, you can use 10mm stones. There are different kinds of tiger eye, from blue tiger eye also knows as hawks eye, to the original yellow gold tiger eye and of course the red tiger eye. In my opinion these stones are masculine and look great on a guy.

Try to stay away from using clasps <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

PS: if you can find the RARE blue-gold mix of the tiger-eye in 8mm, these are absolutely beautiful.

Try http://www.snazzycat.com they might have it.

Hope that helps somewhat.

Tammy,

I think my favorite masculine stuff tends to be earthy. I like leather, macrame, Pietersite, bone, shell, wood, African trade beads. Anything that is subtle and not too flashy. I think most conservative guys would probably have similar insterests in that kind of jewelry. If you want to add a little flash to the piece, silver spacers work well.

Good luck. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
