Hey Lisa,

what can you tell me about digestable carbs? I got some pasta over the weekend and it is made with durham wheat flour with semolina (or something like that) and it says that only 8g of carbs get digested. It claims it is even better than low carb pasta. It tastes great too. Is it too good to be true? I believe the brand is DreamFields.

Those just mean net carbs, it's the same thing. It's carbs that have an impact vs things like fiber that just go through your system and get pooped out

Yup we like a lot of different low carb pastas, some are quite tasty!

Dreamfields! This is one of my favorites. Since I am diabetic and must test my glucose, I can tell you that this product has little impact on my blood sugar, so the claim is true, for me, anyway. No way could I ever eat regular pasta without my blood sugar going through the roof! This is a big find for me, since I do love pasta now & then. It opens up a new avenue of recipes for us low carbers. I hope everyone will try it, and the company will keep making such good pasta. All the other low carb pastas I've tried taste like cardboard. Not this one. Enjoy it without guilt.

well this is incredible news!! It really does taste great. Pasta is great for me because I'm not a big cooker - most of the time I'm only making meals for myself and pasta is just so easy to make I'm happy to know I can still enjoy and stick to my low-carb diet. Hooray!!

There is also a brand called R&F - they bill it as "reduced carbs" and have lasagna noodles - fabulous! Those are the only 2 brands that taste good. The rest are truly BAAAAAAD. Just remember, your mileage may vary when eating digestible carbs. For those in induction, it may be best to hold off on the digestible carbs.

I'm in Canada and purchased it from No Frills which is a cheap grocery store so I would imagine most grocery stores carry it.

Woo-hooo! I've been looking for lasagne noodles! I *love* vegetable lasagne and have been craving it big time. I was on the verge of making some with the Dreamfields penne, but am a bit behind on the cooking from the heat.

Y'all want to try Rao's sauces; don't bother with l/c pasta sauces...they're generally pretty insipid. The Rao's sauces are intrinsically low-carb and though expensive, not nearly as dear as a cheap Italian meal in a restaurant with gazillion carbs in the pasta, sauce, bread... The Rao's Vodka Sauce is as they say, "To die for...", but ha, ha, we don't have to!

Yup I definitely am a huge fan of buying low carb products I enjoy, to help support them and to let the supermarket know that the product should be stocked. I know of a few great brands that went out of business because too few people bought their products, so I do what I can to support the ones that are left
