Ooh that's a toughie. But I really suck at driving (I usually can't even go a few seconds before crashing into something) and I got all golds in driving school, so it's very possible.
For me, it all came down to being lucky. It's pretty much straight up, get the checkpoint, then come straight down. The hard part is not hitting any cars. Make sure you stay in the middle, down the trolley tracks, so you don't have to dodge cars.
The hardest part is at the very beginning, when you have to pull out onto the road and start driving up. Usually there will be cars spawning there on the corner and they'll usually get in the way. You can wait a few seconds before zooming off, that sometimes allows you to dodge them, saving you time and damage.
But mostly, it comes down to memorizing the path and traffic patterns. Also, keep your eyes on the road. Don't look at the time.
