Has anyone else experienced this - lettuce, no matter what kind or where I get it from - tastes gritty to me lately. So much so that I really don't want to eat it ever again. I have had a salad every day for the past 4 weeks and at first I was really enjoying it but now it's just not appealing (and yes, I thoroughly wash it). Am I just crazy or did some foods taste strange to other people new to low-carbing??

I'm wondering if you're using a new salad dressing?

I've never had that happen - if it was going to happen to anyone, it should happen to vegetarians who go through tons of lettuce

Iceberg lettuce (and most other common lettuces) really doesn't have much nutrient content - it's like eating plastic So I might instead try spinach - it might taste better to you, and give you far more nutrients per bite.

I know once I got scallops that were sandy, and it turned me off of scallops for over a year. So I understand how that can happen!

Oh I would suggest trying a completely different dressing - it could be something simple like you're getting to the bottom of the bottle and are reaching the grit in it

your grandmunchkins are beautiful!!

I'm happy to report that lettuce is tasting fine to me again. I just had a weird week I guess. Nothing really tasted quite right and I didn't want to eat anything. All better now though.
