Have you tried Lush products? If so, did you like them?

If you don't know who, or what, Lush is, let me give you a little information ~ Lush is a UK business specializing in funky handmade cosmetics. Soaps (albeit melt and pour based), bath bombs, bath melts, massage bars, butter bars, facial masques, hair treatments ~ well, just about anything you can think of to pamper your bod. They're not all natural, though, so if you're allergic to detergent based products or synthetic fragrance and/or preservatives, you might not get a good result from their stuff.

Anyway, as big a natural nut that I am, I still visit Lush whenever I'm in San Francisco or Santa Monica (CA) ~ you can literally smell the store from a block away! It's fantastic.

What? Nobody likes Lush? Never used their products? Go check them out at www.lush.com ~ the descriptions of their products are sometimes hilarious.

I am a Lush addict myself. Justine, if you're looking to connect with other lushies, check out the forums on the website. What's your favorite product? Mine is probably Dream Cream at the moment.

This is so weird for me ~ I DO love Lush, I just can't use many of their products. I can use their bio-masques. Those are awesome! The bath bombs make me break out, the soaps dry my skin, the body butters give me a rash ~ it's horrible. But I do love the scents ~ I just bliss out whenever I visit their stores. In fact, I NEVER go to LA or SF without popping in and buying a little tub of their fresh seaweed masque or the one with garlic and tea tree. I know, I'm strange

I love Lush. Their masques are fresh. Everything uses real herbs. I bought scrubs from them with dried flowers in them. Heavenly to use.

Say, if you are into making your own beauty products, you might want to check out womanht beauty for a whole lot of beauty recipes.

You can even add essential oils to the recipes at unscented beauty recipes to tailor a moisturizer to your personal taste.

Hope that helps

I just returned from Ireland, and found their store in Dublin. What a great store! My brother and I spent tons of money there.

So far I've used the hair moisturiser on myself (that was messy but fun), I used the hennae on my brother (I don't recommend doing that in a hotel room, but his hair looks great), and some of the shower jelly. The jelly smells delicious but is a little strong for my nose. I like using just a little, then I have to go back to unscented soap.

I've only ever been past Lush...I thought it was only for soaps and bath salts. The store itself looks nice, but sometimes the smell is overwhelming. I like the idea of natural ingredients though. As I mentioned a while ago, I'm finding that I really like natural products like Burt's Bees. They have good fragrances and I don't feel like I'm putting a lot of toxins into my body

Have you tried naturals? Natural perfumes, natural handmade soaps, natural oil-based lotions and butters? It can make a difference. I break out nearly every time I use a synthetic fragrance oil or something with lots of synth preservatives. I like to think that if I can't eat it, at least in very small proportions, I probably shouldn't smear it on my skin. I may rethink that position later when someone points out that cactus paddles are edible, but do I want to swat my bare nekkid body with one?

The scents wafting through the doors of any Lush store can be overpowering. That's usually how I know I'm in the right place when I go to the Santa Monica store. Just plug your nose and dive in! You won't regret it, even if you are a supporter of 'all natural'. You just can't help but be impressed.
