I had a dream the other night that literally scared the heck out me when I woke! I was in a house/apartment with my gf Shaun...for some reason, we may have been roommates int he dream. anyhow I was in the bath off the master bedroom and all of a sudden something picked me up and starting spinning and flipping me thru the air, I had toothpaste still on my mouth! Shaun heard the commotion and came to the door. She tried to grab me, and then she did grab me, all the while I am being spun and flipped thru the air. She gets a hold of my hand and is pulling me to the door when the 'force' lets go of me. We think it is ok, and then as soon as Shaun let go of my hand, it started all over again.
Now I woke with such a start and was so scared I was afraid to go back to sleep!
items I remember from the dream are, the bathroom fixtures, sink tub (no toilet) a door from bath to bdrm, large over bureau mirror, door to halllway, a bed, and the toothpaste still on my lips. <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Scary one! What comes to mind for me is the sense of being out of control and at somebody (or something) else's command. Is there a part of your life where you feel someone else has all the control?

hmmmm...can not say as I have ever had control over my own life. but I did not think that someone else/something was controling me at this point in time.

How long had you been sleeping when you dreamed this? The physical sensations indicate you may have been lucid - this usually happens about 6 hours into the sleep cycle.

I agree with Lauren's interpretation, and would compare spinning to spiraling......can you compare it to an upward or downward spiral? Up - progress, down - deterioration.

I was only about 2 hrs at the most into sleeping....that is usually when I have that kind of dream....
As for the spinning or spiraling, I was being flipped and spun but at a level hieght, such as spinning your wheels but staying in one place! UGH!!!!

That leads me to ask, do you feel stuck somewhere in your life? You put it very clearly when you said 'spinning your wheels.'

One of the things I am noticing about my dreams is that 1 I only remember dreams when I have been drinking alcohol. and two that there is an element of fear in most of them. Whether it is the fear of being left alone and rejected as in the first dream I posted here or I'm on a sk=nking cruise ship or now flying thru the air held by an invisible force.
I am starting to realize that I am VERY unhappy with my current life status, obviously. and that I am afraid possibly to do something to change it because I will fail myself...again. In this dream Shaun stabalized me, my friend. Maybe she is a representation of all of my friends....and it may not be 'just' her that I need to ask help from.

I read the article on sleep paralysis and it appears to be nothing like what I have experienced...I feel tremendous fear when I am touched in my sleep by this 'being' I mean a tremendous amount of fear....so bad that I almost get sick to my stomach...

Well you lot are going to get fed up with me saying this, but the crystal shops will be happy-

Get a piece of black tourmaline & take it to bed with you. It is a powerful protector & if any unpleasant forces really are getting to you in your dream state it will ward them off. I have seen black tourmaline 'switch off' a psychic attack like flicking a switch- it's great stuff!

Don't be afraid of change. Nothing in life stays the same & once you are aware of elements that are holding you back or causing you pain you need to root them out. It's scary stuff & it may feel worse before it feels better, but most people can look back & can see why it was so important to move things along. Think of life like decorating the room. If the decor looks old & tatty it gets you down, but you know to decorate will involve lots of effort & when the paper is stripped the room will look awful. However when the new wallpaper goes up & everything is fresh & new again you will feel great about it & know it was worth the upheaval.
