Today, while doing shopping, I saw a woman buy "metka," a kind of fatty spicy raw sausage. Then I got some raw beef for myself.
Now I am going to devour it. It is already minced, mixed with finely chopped onion and pickled cucumber. The recipe requires to add an egg`s yolk, some sardines, olive oil and a lot of spices, mostly pepper. I aslo use soya oil to make it a bit salty and many different spices. All ingredients should be mixed well together to make drab spicy substance. Yum, yum.

It should be served in room temperature, with bread. Cold beer is a good companion.
It is called "befsztyk tatarski" or simply "tatar" in Polish. In English: steak tatare?

I really enjoy Tatar, but I do not eat it often, becouse of fear of salmonella or other disease

I had it once only and I did like the taste but could not overcome "prejudice" toward eating raw meat.
I'd have it in small quantities. Why not! Healthier then fried! I am not big on meat myself - I have some once every two weeks or so.

I've never had raw meat, either. I agree with people here - it is too dangerous. I think this is why man eventually decided fire can be used to prepare food.

Jerzy, what about the rest of your family? Will they eat it?

****"metka," a kind of fatty spicy raw sausage***

I also would like to try it again. I think this raw meat had lots of spices inside to make sure that it is safe to eat - just like Indian food is spicy in order to get rid of bacterias.
