I've been in charge of the mythology section for a year now, and I'm afraid I still haven't quite got the hang of posting articles when I should. Not for lack of inspiration, certainly, but for a certain lack of focus.

So, tell me, what myths would you like to learn about? The myths I tend to like most are Celtic, Egyptian, and Japanese--and that's what I've been gravitating toward in my articles. (I'm afraid I burned myself out on the Greeks and Romans during high school. ^^)

So, any suggestions (Culture or specific stories, etc) are welcome. If I'm not familiar with the myth, I will drag out the books and websites for some research. (And perhaps use offerings from you readers as well.)

Until later.

Hi!!

I personally am fascinated by comparative mythology. So any article about that I would love to read.

I'm also really into creation and Asian myths. I have been having trouble find much of anything on Africa and New Guinea.

Thanks for responding, I'll look into some of the topics.

The creation myths sound really interesting. I was big into mythology back in highschool (I was the academic team's expert for some unknown reason) i always liked the weird ones: Egyptian (it sounded so much like a soap opera we called it "As the Pyramid Turns"), Celtic, etc.

I have a friend who's from Australia and she was telling me about an Aboriginal myth about the creation of the world. Apparently they believed MAN created the world.

Mm, yes, those dramatic Egyptians. I do remember seeing a lot of glazed looks in my Humanities class when we finally got to Egyptian mythology.

Keen. I will have to look into that one.

Okay, so creation myths are tops on the check list. Back to work and study I go.

Thanks.

I would enjoy hearing about any of the following mythologies:

Asaian (perferrably Japanese)
Norse
Persian.

I have Greek and Roman myths coming out of my ears too :-) (Although I still enjoy them).

I've recently started looking more into Norse mythology and Hindu mythology, and would enjoy some topics on those. Also, I know very little about Asian (Japanese and Chinese) mythology.

And yes, I'd love to know more about the Aboriginal dreamings and mythology, too.

I've always had a fondness for Homer... I wish I could find the book I read in 3rd grade - it was such an easy read and so exciting for an 8 year old <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I would love to see a comparison of creation myths. Also Sumerian and Celtic stories.
