I'm going to be in Bermuda in the first week in August, my first time there. It seems that just about every adult I meet in Massachusetts has been there at least once - apparently it's such a short hop that it's quite popular

My main aim is to snorkel every day and see the fish I suppose maybe a day trip to the zoo?

Lisa,

Being a former travel agent, of all of my island travels, Bermuda is one, if not, my most favorite island.
It is idyllic, with it's stacking of pastel houses, of all hues, and the traffic cop in his spotless white uniform blowing his whistle.

The best way to see the island, on your own, is by motorbike--but beware! Remember that you drive on the left side of the road and all of the two hour visiting cruise passengers seem to forget that, especially, on the numerous circles that you have to navigate. Just put on your helmet, go slow and find any number of your own private beaches, with crystal clear water, and pink air-conditioned sand--really!

Another great thing is the diversity of the ocean.
On one side of the island it is totally calm and perfect for snorkelling, and on the other side of the island, it roars and will beat you up with the waves.

Also, it is very expensive.
Another advantage of having your motorbike is to stop at a local grocery store, buy a little fresh baked bread and cheese and have a picnic on your newly found private beach.

Have a wonderful time, as I know you will.

Lisa,

Bermuda is just beautiful, it is my favorite vacation spot. Pam's use of the word "idyllic" describes Bermuda perfectly. Plan to do a little sight-seeing too. The country is small enough to enjoy snorkeling in the morning and sight-see in the afternoon.

Yes. But my guess is you will end up doing so much more once you arrive.

I really don't think so - normally when we go on vacation we race from spot to spot to see everything. We stay in super cheap motels and spend the money on gas and entrance fees. This time, we focussed the other way around. We put the money into the cruise, and will enjoy that greatly as our primary entertainment The beaches we get to go to for free will be an added bonus! It'll be the first time we've ever travelled and stayed in one spot for a week, I believe. We do a lot of travelling and normally it involves changing locations every day

Oh. I can understand that. There is so much to do on the ship. Even dinner is an event. Also, you can do your running around when you return to Bermuda

Lisa, you have a lot going on this summer, the Bella Trip to Vegas, a cruise to Bermuda. That's wonderful. By the way, if an e-book of the Vegas meeting with pix, etc is put together, I will definately buy one.

We wouldn't sell that, we'll put that all on the website

Yes somehow both landed only a week apart! The Vegas thing had been something we'd talked about for quite a while and that was the cheapest time to go, so in that case it was all about finding the most inexpensive week we could so the editors had low costs.

For the Bermuda cruise, it was that my sister's triplets were just graduating from high school, and one was going to Iraq. So we spent months and months trying to figure out what kind of a family vacation we could go on, where everybody would be happy. The kids wanted adventure and the parents wanted quiet time. The cruise ended up being the one thing that provided both My mom is paying for all the kids, as a graduation present.
