I'd like to hear some opinions on this. I see a trend among teens and twenty-somethings, to show off more roundness around the tummy and hip area than your traditional starving runway model.

I'm seeing a lot of low-rise jeans with a bit of a belly peaking over them, and some extra padding showing in the back, too! I think it's cute, and can be sexy as well.

What a refreshing change to see women enjoying their natural curves.

I'm hoping it's a sign that women (especially white women) are getting more comfortable with their bodies. I'd rather see more of this trend than to see the Ashley Olson look-alikes.

Now, if this is happening because of too much junk food and too little exercise, then I suppose it's NOT so great!

Jump in, everyone! I'm really looking forward to your opinions!!

Yes, I'd noticed that too. I'm not sure that teens are more accepting of their body shapes but rather just very fashion conscious, and no matter what their figure shape they'll wear what they want to wear -- better to have love-handles and be looking trendy than be skinny and out of fashion.

Just my opinion .... <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

OK, I'll buy that...but there's still more love handles to go around than there were the last time low rise jeans were in style (we called 'em hip huggers then!)

So...are they more relaxed about their weight? Or too fashion conscious to care?

I'd love to hear from some of the teen and twenty-something members!

I think this is disgusting. I started to have a tummy a few years ago (2006 or 2007 or 2008) and I immediately started exercising to get rid of it. Fat is not something to be proud of! Not just because it is disgusting but also because it is not healthy. Now it is in fashion to ridicule people who have an healthy weight and people who are too thin and nobody can say anything about people who are fat or obese even when it is not negative, it is insane! Oh go eat a sandwich is the number one reply to people who are not fat or obese then these idiots starts to cry and scream fat-shaming when the opposite is said. Fat is not healthy and it is not beautiful. You do not have to starve yourself and spend your time exercising to have an healthy weight!
