1) I live in New Jersey, and by New Jersey Law a pet skunk MUST be breed in New Jersey, so can I still buy one from Ruby Farms?
2) How much do baby skunks cost? I wasn't able to find that out either.
I would really appreciate the help....
Thanks!

If New Jersey Law says a skunk must be bred in New Jersery then you have to do just that. Ruby Farms 641 672 2067 may be able to refer you to a skunk breeder in New Jersey. If you need a license call the department that issues them they would have a list. Also the Federal department that issues exotic breeding permits would have a list since the breeder would have to be licensed. If I remember the name of that agency I will post it here. Perhaps someone else will post information that will help. That is why the public forum is more useful than just emailing me. You have more resources to find breeders. I cannot tell you to purchase in Iowa and transport a skunk illegally. There is some change that something terrible could happen. Not the way to go. There has to be breeders in Jersey. Try state and federal agencies they are usually quite helpful.

Another thing you could try is join some of the Yahoo groups under subject skunks there are many of them. Many are on the East Coast and will be more familiar than I am with East skunk breeders. I am way out here in California, have only dealt with Ruby and that was when I was in a legal state. (Moved here long enough to take care of elderly, ill parents)

Keep me informed perhaps we can compile a skunk breeder list.

Sigh <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
I contacted the place where they give out exotic animal permits and they said they are not allowed to give out breeders anymore. Kind of stupid but thats the law i guess...
Time to look for another way smirk

Remember what I said about Yahoo groups - be carefull some can be cruel (members) watch what you say, some are great people but they may help you find a breeder or a connection in Jersey.

Wish you luck. Check back I will think on this some more. Have you check to see if they are legal in your state? Send me your email address again, I do have an idea but not a public idea.
