I have been looking for this movie for a long time and have had no luck so far. I don't know the name of the movie or any of the actors which is a big problem. I know some of the plot so here I go. It starts with a fog rolling across a lake in the summer. There is a mother, father and son. The father, son and a neighbor jump in the car to go to the town market. The fog is behind them all the way into town. They go into the market and as the fog rolls on to the windows giant spiders slide down. Then a stock boy screams from the back and everyone goes to see what is wrong and he is being pulled out of the large doors by giant tenticles. There is also this crazy lady in the market screaming the world is going to end.

If this sounds even remotely familar your help would be greatly appreciated.

It reminds me of a Stephen King story I read "the mist"...people are trapped everywhere by this strange fog...

Have you tried looking on http://www.imdb.com ? Sometimes you can just give a few keywords to the plot and it will give you a list of movies that match. Do you have any clue as to how old this movie is?

Thank you for answering back. The Mist was never made into a movie and I saw this on late night TV when I was 14 or 15 years old.

I also have went on imdb and they could not help me either.

Maybe John Carpenters "The Fog." It was made in 1980, I am not sure what year you were 14-15 but was it around 1980?

the plot you described was the exact plot of "the mist" perhaps someone toook the concept and made a movie from it.

The Fog (1980) is about how the souls of a shipwrecked bunch of lepers come back to kill townspeople in a fog, but there aren't insects and and giant tentacles.

Stephen King story-to-screenplay adapter Frank Darabont is supposed to be working on an adaptation of The Mist now, and yeah, the plot sounds *identical* to the movie that A_W is trying to find.....

What years were you 14-15? That's not much of a reference point on it's own, and yet knowing what years those were might help some of us pin it down.
