I have to say, the yarn looks and feels beautiful! I ordered enough of the Alpaca/silk yarn in Barn Red and Fawn to knit my husband a 2-color pattern out of Meg Swanson's "Knitting" book (Russian Prime, if you have that book), and I just can't wait to dive in! The yarn is so soft and has just a bit of lustre, not too much for a guy. I also ordered the pattern book, because the discount was so good.

I think the yarn is going to be a dream to knit up; I'll certainly report back in if I encounter any problems.

So, to anyone else who was considering ordering from Knit Picks, I'd say go for it! Knit Picks

Oh Becky, I am so jealous <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I have to wait, in the middle of a move but after I get settled I certainly will have to give them a try. Thanks for letting us know, seems like they have good prices and fast service.

I've bought successfully from Knit Picks six times now. The quality of the yarn is great-- my only complaint has been with a couple of skeins of Sock Garden-- the colors "pooled" when knit, but then again-- so does Lorna's Laces.

One thing I will say- whenever I read complaints about Knit Picks yarns, it always has to do with the yarn shrinking or felting. Please, please pay attention to the care instructions. I'd say about 99 percent of Knit Picks yarn is NOT machine washable. It must be hand washed, or it will felt like mad!

The yarn is of great quality, without having to decide if you are going to eat or knit to afford it!!
