I gotta share this! My mom took us to Mobile to see Three Dog Night. That was my first rock concert, and she watched it too (we lived an hour away). So, when we wanted to see Black Sabbath (yes, with Ozzy), she drove us. This was around 1970-71, I was too young to drive. Mom loves music and she enjoyed TDN. On the way home from Black Sabbath, mom said "I will drive you to Mobile to see concerts, and I will bring you home, but I will NEVER sit through another one!". I guess Ozzy and Black Sabbath were not what she was expecting. She did take me to see Elvis twice, memories I cherish to this day. And I still have the t-shirt bought at his last Mobile concert. But my very fave, always has and always will be, is Led Zeppelin. <img src="/images/graemlins/heart.gif" alt="" /> By the time they came to Mobile, I was old enough to drive. Back then they let us get right up to the stage, and that is exactly where I was.

haha...that's a good story! Your mom is brave. I don't think mine would get anywhere near Ozzy or Black Sabbath

Several years ago Chuck Negron and one other Three Dog Night member came here. They played a bunch of old TDN songs. I took my mom, and we stood on the beach listening to the music and I thought how cool, 35 years later, I was taking her to the same concert she took me to when I was 14.

My dad was the head of advertising at a large store, federated store when I was a kid and when they did ads for rock music they had to take the cellopane off the records before they could shot the photos so dad would bring the albums home and tape them on a reel to reel recorder. We would actually have copies before the music ever hit the stores.. We had some pretty jammin parties at the house.
We had a neighbor who hated any rock music so my dad who had a long running feud put four of those old giant speakers and put them on the roof and just blasted them.
When he retired he bought a red sports car with a cd player, grew a beard and would drive around blaring the grateful dead. He has mellowed lately and just plays alot of ozzy or black sabbath and he turns 80 this year. I think he was born 25 too early.

I remember I had an uncle who loaded and unloaded Juke Boxes. He would bring me home the 45's.
