I noticed we had a thread for recipes, but didn't
see anything for just foods and snacks in general- things out on the market that are naturally low carb or even those companies who are now making foods spacifically for low carb.

So, if you have or know of different foods and snacks that you like to purchase just to have for themselves and not necessarily something to go into meal preperation... I'd love to know what some of them are

My walking buddy just introduced me to Dannon Carb Control yogurts.

They have 3g of carbs, great source of calcium and an added bit of health information that I learned about yogurt- according to this doctor that was on the news the other night- it naturally speeds up your metabolism.

Oh, by the way..I'm actually having one right now for breakfast and they taste fantastic!

A revved metabolism is definitely a good thing! And yogurt is definitely good for you. You just have to choose the low sugar ones and not the ones with gallons of sugar dumped into them

I like EAS nutrition shakes. I really don't like eating breakfast, so at least I get a shake into me sometimes to get my day going.

My favorite food find is Dreamfields Pasta. It is formulated in such a way that only 5gr of carbs are digested. The rest pass through as fiber. It tastes like real pasta because it IS real pasta. I thought I would never enjoy pasta again, as I MUST eat low carb, because of diabetes. But I enjoy eating that way, and this really makes it perfect. I have also discovered Yoplait low carb yougurt, as delicious as the original. Daily calcium has many benefits, among them, helping weight loss. Another thing I can pass along, is quitting caffiene. Just doing that alone will take about 10 lbs off of you. Amazing, isn't it?

I'm definitely a firm believer in removing caffeine from your diet. I used to drink a ton of caffeine and I would go from jittery highs to sludgy lows. Once I finally broke myself of the habit (which I admit was hard!) I now am much more even keel, I always have a nice focussed energy.

I really don't eat pasta much any more at all - if I have a craving for a sauce type, I just have that over grilled chicken or tuna instead of over pasta
