At the end of my recent road trip thru Nevada, my friend and I stopped at the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno where there is the premiere of a new collected show of work by painter/illustrator/photograher Maxfield Parrish.
Wow! That man's use of light in his work is even more stunning when you see the pieces up close. There are about 80 pieces in the show, from small images to a few wall-sized murals. One thing I really liked was how they've included some of the photo studies he did for some of his more famous images. That was very cool.
It looks like this is going to tour once it's done it's run in Reno, so keep an eye out.
