We've been gone for awhile and just returned so I haven't been on for a month. Was very sad to read this thread. This is how I found out that Jane passed away. We lived in Georgia from 87-89 and our first exotic pet was an apricot skunk named Rosie. We purchased her from a pet store and she had health problems from the beginning. After several visits to different vets, we finally found a very caring one who knew about skunks. She also knew about Jane and put us in touch with her. She was so willing to help us provide the best home for our blood-sugar challenged skunk with tons of great advice. We joined the skunk club (still have our Skunks As Pets club card!), and met with her and many other wonderful and unforgettable skunk owners and skunks for each holiday. We learned much from all of these people, and Jane was the leader always striving for the best for each and every skunk. Because of her help, Rosie lived a long life, which was amazing considering her health issues. She was the most amazing pet we've ever had, but I'm sure our experience would have been much different if it weren't for Jane. Jane, I hope you can hug and kiss Rosie for me!

I am sorry I had to be the bearer of this awful news. She did a lot for our furry children!

I never got a chance to meet Jane. I was hoping to spend some time with her at this years show, but it just wasn't meant to be. I didn't have the Internet when I got my skunk Cindy. I had been following the advice of the breeder who said to feed her cheap dog food. My poor baby had severe bone disease so bad she couldn't move. I had many phone conversations with Jane about Cindy. Jane was there for me every step of the way, offering advice, as well as a shoulder to cry on. She was the first person I called when I finally had to let my baby go to the Bridge. I truly believe that Jane was as broken hearted as I was. Thank you my friend for all your help.
I miss you,
Rhonda

She held many hands while skunks were ill or passing. We will all miss her.
