I feel bad that her friends did not take the time to comment. She did a lot for the domestic skunk world. Now the work is being carried on. A great effort will begin to keep people from attempts at dishonoring people that make an effort to go forward. Anyone that has anything to say about anyone had better have the documentation to back up accusations and research efforts. I have ran across many lies, one person has come forward with documentation to prove what they have said and things they have done are true. I commend that person for their integrity and the efforts to better understand the care for the domestic skunk.

I saw her at the (2002? 2003?) SAP show in Cinci catch a fleeing skunk by the tail that had ben running around the room like a nut for a few minutes... She reached down and snagged that skunk just as easy as pie. 500 people in the room, and Jane Bone is the one that caught that skunk. It was like he knew exactly where to go <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> That takes some courage to reach down and grab a strange, scared skunk, but she thought nothing of it. That is what I will always remember.

To Jane a lady who helped Domectic Skunks what they are today. I have heard she is now the Gate Keeper of the rainbow bridge helping skunks enter in.
We will continue on to help all skunks.

I can think of no better gate keeper to help skunks find their way. I read a story the other day of a man and his pet who were both dead. They were following a trail and came across the golden city. The man asked the gate keeper where he was and he said Heaven. The man asked for a drink of water the gatekeeper went and got him ice cold water. The man asked for a drink for his pet. The gatekeeper said his pet was not welcome there. At this time I thought to myself this could not be Heaven. I know my pets that have passed are waiting for me. The story went on as the man continued on his way and came to another man. A simple man in simple dress next to a old gate. The man asked him where they were. This gatekeeper answered as the last person, Heaven. How could both places be Heaven the man answered? The golden place who didn't want our beloved pets was not Heaven but the deceptive one. The man asked for a drink for him and his pet the man pointed to the well and mentioned that there was a bowl for his pet too. The man and his pet had found their way home.

I can imagine Jane and this man having quite the conversation. She would seem more at home in this Heaven than the golden Heaven!

I have known Jane for 8 years. She was there for me when I got my first baby skunk, Coco, and has been there ever since. She helped me with whatever question or problem I had. I was one of the lucky ones who got to meet her. The first time at a skunk show in Augusta, Ga., the 2nd time at a show in Daytona, Fla. I remember both times, watching her with various skunks, and being in awe at the way they responded to her. Every skunk trusted her like they had known her forever. I knew I was witnessing something very special that will stay in my memory forever.
My tears still flow for our loss here on earth, but I take comfort knowing that she is at the Rainbow Bridge looking after my Coco and giving her the hugs and kisses that I can't anymore. Thank you Jane.
