It's wedding season! Does anyone have any wedding jewelry stories or ideas to share? I'm talking more about fashion jewelry worn as an accessory on the wedding day, rather than the wedding bands themselves.
Please share. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I made my own jewelry for my wedding. Glass pearls and crystals make a wonderful choker that goes well with a wedding gown. Besides, by making your own jewelry means you get it exactly the way you like it, at the exact length that flatters you, the exact colors you like, the exact clasp... and so on. Plus if you make and sell jewelry, it is a great advertisement for your business.

My great-grandmother passed away the same night my husband proposed to me. We never had the chance to tell her. She loved David, and knew we would probably get married, but I would have liked to have her there. For my "something old" I used a pair of her clip on earrings and with some finagling I made them into hair clasps to help pin my hair up. It took forever, and I could never make another pair like it, but it was worth it to have a piece of her with me.
Michelle Taylor Why me? What did I do to deserve this? (go on, ask)

There's a designer, Rebecca Dotson, here in Memphis who makes jewelry, particularly bridal jewelry. We had her make my daughter's wedding jewelry, and the bridesmaid's jewelry. It was very affordable and absolutely gorgeous. Here's her website, http://www.redotdesigns.com -- there are a lot of pictures, but they really don't do her work justice. She also customizes--we found necklace & bracelet that worked perfectly and I think had the earrings changed a little bit.

My MIL (to be at the time) gave me this necklace to wear at the wedding, and asked me to pass it down to my sons' bride when the time comes. It had apparently come from my FIL's mother. It's a beautiful cameo.

In wedding ceremony parties most of womens prefer to wear heavy jewelries. As bride should look "odd men out" for that grandmother and mother force to ware such heavy and old traditional Jewelries. But in present scenario its better to wear light jewelries which is suitable to your skin. For such latest jewelries look at the site of jewelelegance Jewelelegance

I want to share how to choose the necklaces for bride and bridesmaids.
1) If the gowns are low cut or sleeveless, a necklace that falls to rest right above the cleavage is a great way to call attention to the beauty of the wedding
2) For a higher cut of gown, consider getting necklaces that are a little snugger to the neck. Keep in mind the fact that the necklaces should avoid just grazing the neckline. This makes the entire look too busy and unplanned. Make sure that the pendant on the necklace sits squarely on skin or on the gown itself.
Hope this information is useful for choosing the right types of necklace for weddings.
