In my dream, I got bitten 3 times by little bitty snakes. The first one jumped up and bit me on my upper arm (where you get a shot). It was white, with pastel colors on the underside. I flung it off, and then a second baby snake jumped up and bit me. Then I felt a gnawing on my palm and there was the third one, gnawing my palm. I flung it away. That was my dream. 3 hours later I saw a baby snake. The next day I ended up in the ER, requiring 4 stitches. The colors of the ER cubicle curtain and floor were the exact same as the baby snake underbelly. 2-3 months later I had a dream that a big snake bit me. I have not figured that one out yet.

My goodness, it sounds like you have quite a gift there. Have you checked into classes online or in your area where you can learn to develop it?

Here's an article from the symbols dictionary about the meaning of snakes in our dreams:

I am new to the computer and the group and mostly email my friends. I love this site and really want to educate myself about the things going on in my life. (dreams, visions, that darn Banshee wailing). Does this site have online classes, or can any be recommended? I am hesitant to check it out locally; if people have not experienced this themselves, they think you are weird or strange and I do not to deal with them! This is just the tip of my iceberg.

Hi, Firefly! Thanks for your comments on Bella! and I'm so glad you joined.

We do give online courses at Bella! but I haven't started one yet because although over 1,000 people stop by every day to read my articles, not many visit the forum. I wasn't sure if there'd be enough interest, but I'd be happy with just 2 or 3 people. My husband has been very ill but when things calm down, I'll move toward putting up a course.

In the meantime, feel free to post any questions here in the forum. Please start new threads for different topics. We can discuss your questions individually. Some of the members that stop by have great insights. Also, we have a lot of great articles, and if there's something you'd like me to research and write about, please let me know!

There are also some off site links in the resources section on the home page that you may want to check out.

Since your dreams are quite psychic, you may find Bella's Clairvoyance and Paranormal sites and forums helpful.

I look forward to seeing you here a lot!

Oo, that's a creepy dream! That reminds me of when I was little, I had a dream where a big snake bit me on the bottom of my big toe. Throughout the dream, the bite was like a big open festering sore and I had to be careful how I walked so that I didn't press down on it. Thankfully, nothing like that happened to me any time soon after.

I can see how that dream you had when you were little really was creepy. However, I am nature's child, and the snake dreams did not bother me. I was bothered, however, in the second dream because right before the big snake bit me I saw it coming and put my hand out and said "no!" and he bit me anyway. Nobody ever listens to me. It surprised me after the first dream to see the baby snake (approximately 3 hours after I woke up), because I was at my country place, where large rattlesnakes do live, but I almost never see snakes. And the baby was about a foot away, making a lot of noise, and moving away. I did not get scared, just very surprised. you see, it is hard to dream if you are not asleep, and I do not sleep well. The very few dreams I have had, they occur right before I wake up, after sunup. And they are very real. And I do not know squat about dreams, and do not know what a lucid dream is. I am hoping to learn more about dreams from this site.

Hi firefly,

It really isn't hard to dream when you're awake:

Daydreaming

Lucid dreams occur when we are in a state of being both asleep and awake. They usually occur an hour or two before we wake up, or when we've woken up and have gone back to sleep. Almost everyone has them and doesn't realize it, and some people work hard to achieve this state with practice. They can also be triggered by sleep deprivation or if you can't achieve healing delta stage sleep. In lucid dreaming, you can actively participate in your dream. If you are engaging in conscious thoughts and choices in your dream instead of just observing, you are probably lucid. A little girl recently told me that her grandma learned to ride a bike without training wheels by dreaming about it!

If you are not sleeping well, perhaps you should see a doctor. Rest is critical to our physical and mental health. This article has a link that describes sleep disorders and when to see a doctor:

I am amazed at what I have learned from this site. I already know the dreams occur shortly before I wake up, I do not seem to be able to guide the path of my dreams, I do feel a physical sense of touching and being touched, and I have had 3 dreams in two weeks about my daughter dying, 2 dreams about tornadoes (2 consecutive nights), 2 dreams about a cat dying (3 months apart), and 2 dreams about snakes biting me (3-4 months apart). And I have woken up and then gone back to sleep and the dream continued where I left off. My insomnia is hormonal, I am 49 and post-menopausal. I fall asleep fine but about midnite or later I wake up and toss and turn the rest of the night. Allergies prevent people from breathing to the best of their ability, which interferes with sleep. Every woman I know my age or older has the same sleep problem. So I try to nap. The tornado dreams were bizarre, and what happened down the road was even freakier. I will tell yall about those two dreams at a later date. And I hope I am never that close to one of those things again! This forum has made me remember things I forgot about, as I have been enjoying being a mother and that comes first.

Firefly, you made my day!

We are all volunteers at Bella and some of us invest more time than others. This site is important to me and I love writing, especially about things I love. It feels so good to know that someone feels that the site is helpful.

We have articles on all of the things you mentioned, but did you find this one?

Hormones and Your Dreams

You and I are the same age and I had a hysterectomy at age 35. I have had the same sleep problems and they've been compounded by fibromyalgia and chronic pain. This book helped me tremendously:

I thank you and will check these out as soon as I have finished eating my words! I woke up this morning with a tiny memory of a dream. It was not one of the dreams that floor you, it was just an inkling; I was holding a turtle. That is all I remember. But it makes me aware that I am probably dreaming a lot more than I thought. I went over to my good friends house; she has a medical issue that has come up and wanted to talk. She has a partially collapsed lung, and just found out. And she needed someone sympathetic to talk to (plus I was a med sec for years). Did I mention that Susan has about 20 turtles in her back yard? I just realized this! They keep laying eggs, and she has several nurserys going on. I think I know what this dream was about. Now for those sites you suggested...
