ok here's my scenario:

20 gallon tank
Ph: 7.2
temp: 75 F
Fish: 4 head & tail light tetras, 4 blueberry tetras, 2 powder gouramis, 2 otos, and 5 kuhli loaches (2 black ones), and 2 deceased marble hatchets.

I noticed about 3 days ago that my tetras and hatchets were developing some white spots all over them. we came to the conclusion that it was Ick, so I called my local pet store. They told me that the fish should be fine until the next day (which was when i could get over there), so I bought a product they had called "Ick Ease". It said on the bottle that it is safe for Tetras and other scaleless fish. I thought this would be a good choice for my kuhlis and otos.

So I put in the recommended amount, and the next morning one of my Hatchets is dead. I put the solution in my water again last night, and this morning my other Hatchet is dead. My tetras still have these white spots all over them, and I'm worried that I might lose the lot of them.

Any suggestions that anyone can offer are greatly appreciated. Thanks. You can send me an email if you'd like so I can get any suggestions quicker!

I'm not sure about the meds, but I had ich once, and I was able to cure it with aquarium salt and some MelaFix. Aquarium salt is always a good idea, have you added any? It's hard to say why your fish died, especially for me because I've never had more than one betta. Someone else may be along to help you soon

The cycle of ich continues even after you can't see it on the fish anymore. The organism is only vulnerable in the free swimming stage, so they usually advise treating for at least a week to be sure you've gotten it all. Keep an eye on the tank for secondary infections as well, but likely all will be fine <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
