I meant to post this earlier but I forgot. My cockatiel has basically been my best friend for a year now. And since I am married, that is saying something. My marriage may fail but my Sam ( what I call my little buddy ) will never leave me. Anyway,.. when I got the little guy he was shell shocked, IE bad owners,.. One way I got him used to human contact and tamed him, was to clip his wing. The other was to keep him outside his cage and hopping around the house as much as he liked. He is breeding now at a friends house and I go there at least every other day to hang out with him. While watching him bounce around the house one day I had an idea of making a perch that connects to the wall. I have made two versions. One with, and one without, feed and water dishes. They were simple to make and I had thought about getting a patent and selling them, and I still might.
However, reading through all of the information on here and seeing all these posts with helpful information, has led me to think that maybe some of you might want to make your own.
They aren't streamlined yet, that will require me to make a mold and I don't have the funds to start production.
Anyway, if there is any interest, let me know and I will take photos and post them. Sam loves them, and I have two
mounted close enough together for him to hop back and forth if he so desires. Oh and for those of you who are not craft savy and think it will be too hard to produce, let me know and I will see how much it would cost for me to ship them to you. The supplies needed for each would have a cost of probably be no more than $2 USD. Either way anyone interested in seeing how they are made let me know.
