Hey ! I was going through my MANY Files and found this idea I saved from May-8-04.
I know some have a hard time crocheting frontwards, but I know you girls can do this [color:"red"] Crazy thing.
I think it could be an exercise for your wrist.

Hey, Hey ,Hey > no throwing stones !!!

Welcome to the twilight zone.......believe it or not I am doing some experiments right now about it and of course I will be putting up hints and tips on how to do it This is NOT I repeat NOT the crab stitch, this is actually crocheting backwards. And Mother Hen I agree.....NO ROCK THROWING, hehehehehehe.

Thanx for the link Mother Hen. I totally agree that one side of a stitch looks better that the other. I'm definately going to try it.

I am a newbie and an oldie but if you double crochet backwards round a garment you get a nice corded edge.

"crocheting backwards"? Would this be Camel crochet? Is there somewhere where I can see what this looks like?

This is the site NO Picture for Backwards Crochet.
Just written instructions.

It is not the Camel or Hump. Here is a site for that stitch.

It diffently is NOT Camel crochet, If you happen to have any of the Tapestry crochet books by Dr. Ventura then you will see backwards crochet.

My input about crocheting backwards and the corded edging should read single crochet backwards not double crochet as I stated earlier. I now realise ( thanks to your excellent forums) that in the US of A our double crochet is your single crochet. Another international difference sorted!!!

Hey Aine !!!

I did the dc Backwards >>>
It turned out awesome.
So once again I have been taught something new.
I have Crochet for 57 years and am still learning.
With all the new patterns and stitches around , I can't wait to learn more STUFF !!!!
Thanks for the [color:"red"] New Stitch
Not a mistake !!!

I use a stitch that is done after you turn and do a trc then a sc it turns out like a Puff Stitch .
It is NOT Crocheting backwards.
Antique Pearls>

It is found on this Square site.
I did it on the [color:"red"] Puff Heart I created.
You can see it on the post I did.
