When Jay Anson's "The Amityville Horror" was published in 1977, it swept through the world of horror literature and, in its time, redefined the concept of the traditional haunted house. Spawning two movies (one just released in the past two weeks), it still seems to conjure demons and continues to capture the imagination. Why do you think "The Amityville Horror" is so appealing even after almost thirty years?

Have you read "The Amityville Horror" by Jay Anson?

I have not read the book. I have seen the original movie and the remake, I love the original and hate the remake. The only good thing about the remake is the few seconds with the flashbacks of the house and why that house is evil. With people who knows how to do horror movies and that few seconds they could make an awesome prequel of that movie. I was sure that someone had made a sequel of that movie years before the remake but I was wrong because I checked on IMDB and I found none.
