Hi Faith,
I just found this delightful site. As an artist, my journals are more images than words. What about an article on art in journals or artists journals? I would be happy to contribute in any way.

Great ideas and that has been my big focus for the site. I'm currently doing a series on altered book journals and I've got links to artist's journals and artists's blogs as well as some other multimedia journaling articles, but I would love to have some more input on other article ideas and suggestions. I adore Hannah Hinchman style nature journals and would love to do some more of that.

I noticed your teaching in Humble this fall. I just moved from there in May, I lived out there for four years!

Thanks for dropping in Kathy! I haven't done a whole lot with altered books yet, but I did the series of articles covering the altered journal I helped my brother put together for a school project. The project went over BIG with his teachers and I learned alot about altered books in the process!

My current project (though going slowly with everything I have on my plate) is a fabric book about Frida Kahlo for my daughter who is a big Frida fan!

Hello Faith...

thanks to you for this part of Bella! It sounds so interesting just reading the Titles for the Threads.... I can feel my hands and energy just wanting to bust out!

I am such a procrastinator though!!! I cannot get my fingers off these keys long enough to even THINK about doing something Creative that I would love so much to do! ha!

Panilla... I am curious as to how your classes have been going?? That must be Great you get to Travel & Teach - Teach something you EnJoY so WeLL!

I am thinking about the areas both of you are in! Panilla you say "South" so I am hoping you are alright --- and Faith, I am curious and really wanting to know about Life in Houston through a Residents Eyes with all the Evacuees taking Residents there now/or for now??

THERE YOU GO FAITH --- That is my Suggestion of Sorts! I have been wanting to find someone (or more than one) that I can correspond with that has been affected by Katrina -- both being the person forced to evacuate and the person (Faith living in Houston) that has so many more residents in town.

I mean no harm by asking this.... I just want to correspond to be able to offer HOPE and Prayers.... some Encouragement and some Kindness.

Didn't mean to carry on for so long....

Actually I moved to San Antonio in May. But we have alot of evacuees hear too. In fact, with my counseling background, I have been doing volunteer counseling at one of the evacuees special needs shelter!

What a small world! I had never heard of Humble, TX and I have lived here in the (big) state of Texas 15 years.

Don't know the nature journaler you mentioned, do you have links to her work? I always want to look at other artists' journals and sketchs even more so than their more finished work.
You mentioned you had links to artists journals and blogs? You did not say where.

Yes, It is a blessing to enjoy ones work. I love traveling, art, and teaching and somehow figured out a way to do all at the same time.
It is a joy to get others as enthused about a subject as I am.

Susan Taylor, Editor of Orchids at Bellaonline, participated in my Botanical Arts and Naturalist Illustration workshop last month,in Humble, TX and wrote about her experience drawing an orchid. What an honor that was for me, an avid reader of Bellaonline, to be spotlighted at Bellaonline!

Hi,
I love journaling, I like combining writing and artwork, a mix between a scrapbook and a journal. I'm so glad there is a site for it here <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Faith, you mentioned Frida Kahlo--her journal is a great representation of biogaphy/scrapbook/journal. She's got poems, quotes, artwork, and journal entries in there.
