My plane tickets have been booked. I leave June 22, and return August 25.
Jaga, I'd like to know if it would be okay if I could write an article about my travels and places I'd been? I should have a digital camera or access to a camera of some sort, so I could try to take pictures.

Hussar,
I am so jealous! Please plan to write an article and take LOTS of pictures (food, relatives, scenery, etc.)!

I already have at least 3 trips planned. One to Krakow (God-willing), this large WWII German Bunker that a whole train could fit into, and another bunker. I'll be limited to southern Poland though and hopefully one day I'll be able to travel to other places around Poland. Also, I might spend a week in Cologne, Germany. There is an International Youth day or something of the sort in August.

Is it about your future or past travels? Make sure it is about Poland or... not necessary but still - ot has to have a connection to Poland

Sounds like a wonderful trip. I am curious - Where is the German bunker you are going to visit? Wayne and I went to see an Austrian Fort (#50) near Prokocim. It was in bad shape but still an amazing site. Chris I have some pictures from the trip I would be willing to share if anyone is interested and is willing to tell me how to post them.

Jaga,
This would be regarding my future trip. I did do some interesting things in my 2003 trip to Europe besides visit Poland. I spent a week in Istanbul and my dad met a friend he hadn't seen in many years. In my 2003 trip one of my most memorable experiences was in Krosno, they took each of us (father, brother, and me) up in hang gliders (like planes but without engines) and up a few kilometers into the sky.
Hollister, This bunker is in southern Poland. To my knowledge it is called "Stepina". It had underground rooms under the larger hangar style concrete build for the train to hide under. Then in the area there were other buildings to provide power, but when the Germans left they flooded everything underground and people will not go diving or anything because they are afraid of possible mines or bombs. I one day (God willing), want to find a way to purchase and excavate it, but alas I'm only 16, but have many years before me.

Hollister (?Chris), I for one would love to see your photos of Poland. Probably the easiest thing to do is set up an album on webshots.com or yahoo (or one of the other free picture-hosting websites) then give us the link. I use webshots, you can store 240 photos for free http://community.webshots.com/user/nancyjmblakeNancy
