A while back we were discussing the availability of Polish cheese.

An article that I was reading indicated that the Polish Mountain Sheep, which are raised in Poland, provide the milk for the following cheese:

Oscypek and Bryndza and Zentyca

Anybody ever try these and are they available here?

I met some gorale while out walking in the Beskidy (southern Poland) a few years ago and traded some beer with them for some "bryndza", which they made from sheep's milk.

I ate some that was freshly made as well as some that had been matured for a few weeks - both were delicious! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have eaten the "Oscypek." I think it is of an acquired taste. It doesn't taste like cheese to me, but more like smoked meat. It is not available in New Britain to my knowledge, but I saw lots of it in the stores of Chicago. We bought some and it was quite good.
