Hi,
Thanks for the information on IBC. I only became aware of it recently when I was doing a bit of research for Women's Breast Health Awareness Month (see my signature).
I think that this is probably a condition that a lot of women don't know a about. Would love if you would join us for breast health awareness month and share your experience with other women.
Summer
Although, relatively, rare (up from 3% to about 6%), Inflammatory Breast Cancer is one of the most aggressive forms of cancer and yet the most mis-diagnosed.
Since being mis-diagnosed myself, I have become an advocate to make sure this doesn't happen to others.
IBC isn't picked up by mammograms or even ultrasound usually.
It takes an MRI or a biopsy to identify this nasty disease.
The symptoms are:
Change in breast size
Itching of the breast and/or redness.
Warm to the touch
Dimpling of the breast, like an orange skin
Inverted nipple and/or discharge
The real kicker-- no lump, usually!
If you are a survivor of IBC or have questions, I will be happy to help you.
