I have no real opinion regarding the new format of qualifying. Things can get very interesting with quals on Saturday instead of Friday. Regardless the teams have their work cut out for them. Your thoughts......

I also don't have an opinion on the qualifying format..and I agree with you completely when you say the teams/drivers will have their work cut out for them..and I think it will be a little harder for both teams and drivers, especially if the Impound rule is in place for the remainder of the races.

Not very excited about a lot of the rules changes over the past few years. It's almost like a spoiled brat ran into a candy store and started grabbing everything in sight. Does impound save $$$, which was the intent? No, because the teams that can afford it just do Busch racing that same weekend. What better way to practice than during a different race? Yes the cars are different but you can tell alot about how the track is going to handle. If you've raced in the Busch race you have a better chance of getting your setup right in the begining pit stops of the Cup race and you're not sitting around fighting your car all day until you can get it right. The "have nots" still don't have a chance to catch up. And it is causing more Cup drivers to jump into those Busch cars on Saturdays. This is also keeping "seat time" from some of the R and D drivers who really need it. We'll see how it pans out in the future.
