I love these books and would love to hear some of the authors or books in that catagory.
Here are some of my favorite authors.
Jeffrey Deaver
J.A. Jance
Patricia Cornwell
Ridley Pearson
Tess Gerritsen

Just read all of Lisa Gardner's books. Not bad read.

I read the J.D. Robb "In Death" series. J.D. Robb is actually author Nora Roberts alter ego I also read Lillian Jackson Braun's "Cat Who" series Anyone familiar with these books know that they are miles apart in concept. But I enjoy the diversity.

Thanks for the recomendations. I've heard of J.D.Robb's series but never thought they would be any good. I think I'll check them out. Thanks for your reply.

Sorry. I did not realize you were looking for recommendations. J.D. Robb novels are great, but not for everyone. They are futuristic, graphic in violent deaths and sometimes very steamy. Eve Dallas and her partner Peabody are like like the old "Cagney and Lacy" series, run amuck. However, those I have introduced to the series can't seem to get enough. You can start with any novel but it's best to start with the first of the series, Naked in Death.

I have read all of the J.D. Robb's and the only one I cannot give a thumbs up to is Remember When (2003). But, that could be a 'Vannie thing'

Here is Nora's site. http://www.noraroberts.com/jdrobbbooks.htm

I think I'll read one of J.D.Robb's books and see if I like it. Not sure about the futuristic part but I will give them a try. Thanks

I really like Linda A. Fairstein. They are about a sex crime prosecutor in NY. I just got the 4th book in James Patterson's Women's Murder Club series. I also like Stephen White's mysteries about a psychologist and his family.

I like this series also. I am up to the 3rd book so far. I was not sure if I would enjoy this Patterson series, I am so used to Alex Cross, but I am enjoying, felt really bad about Jill. Anxious to read the 4th book. Could not find in paperback.

Well, I don't know if you could call them thrillers, but they are serial and mysteries. I love Peter Tremayne's Sister Fidelma mysteries...set in ancient Ireland. They make the time period very easy to understand and give a great insight into the civilization of the time. I don't understand all of the old Gaelic, but I can suss some of the names and places, which is fun.

It's also interesting to see the development of Catholicism. The ancient Irish church was very different from that of today. Clergy married, something I pray for daily as I feel it is a more natural and appealing way of life.

There are many other insights to be gained from these clever mystery stories by the historian Tremayne.

Pick up the series by Mariah Stewart. Dead Certain, Dead Even and Dead Wrong. Couldn't put them down. Read all three within 4 days. Lent them to friends and they felt the same way.
