TORONTO - Police were talking to a man moments before he threw his 5-year-old daughter from an overpass above Canada's busiest highway Sunday, then jumped to his own death.
The girl, who was tossed onto Highway 401 as horrified drivers could only watch, was treated for internal bleeding. She was recovering at the Hospital for Sick Children.
The Special Investigations Unit - which investigates circumstances involving police and civilians which have resulted in serious injury, sexual assault or death - took over the investigation Monday
